Help Wanted

Hybrid Program Manager: work with Program and Tech Crew to plan, omonitor, and assign tasks relating to hybrid program activities.

Tech Crew: Set up (and tear down) computers, cameras, microphones, screens and/or projectors. During the convention, resolve technical issues, monitor online program activity (i.e. passing questions to panel moderators), and making microphones available to audience questions.

Virtual Program Moderators: Moderate virtual program activities. This role can be performed by remote volunteers. Pass questions and comments to at-con tech staff.

Web Designer: Create and update the graphics, colors, fonts, and CSS, the “look and feel” of the website.

Web Content: Create and update the text of web pages for the website.

About SWOC

SWOC, originally the Seattle Westercon Organizing Committee, is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which exists to help Northwest fandom organizing one-off and rotating conventions. SWOC is not affiliated with one ongoing convention; it is an international group which welcomes members of different groups and backgrounds. SWOC has organized many major conventions including

Westercon 46, Seattle in 1993, chaired by Richard Wright

Westercon 50, Seattle in 1997, chaired by Sally Woehrle

Westercon 56, Seattle in 2003, chaired by William Sadorus

Cascadia Con, the 2005 NASFiC held in Seattle, chaired by Bobbie DuFault

Westercon 65, Seattle in 2012, chaired by Bobbie DuFault

Sasquan, the 2015 Worldcon held in Spokane, chaired by Bobbie DuFault (deceased before the convention) and Sally Woehrle

SWOC has also held ConComCon, a gathering of local conrunners, from the 1990s to the 2010s. This was suspending during the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic and has not been resumed.
